RDMS
Railway Data Management System (RDMS) is a version of Railway Doctor software that provides tools for railway condition surveys and reporting and for the planning of rehabilitation measures without GPR data interpretation and analysis capability.
When locating problematic areas on railway track structures it is important to integrate data from different sources. RDMS software enables user to incorporate e.g. structural information from interpreted GPR data, video image, GPS-coordinates, ballast sampling and rail geometry measurements together to locate the problematic areas and define the root causes of the defects. RDMS is able to visualize different kind of data types. All different data’s are synchronized together and their relationships can be analyzed quickly. All shown views can be copied to clipboard or save as an image. The view can be zoomed and scrolled as needed. Also scales for longitude and vertical axes can be set independently.
RDMS (Railway Data Management Software) version has been developed for railway authorities, engineering companies and design consultants, who do not have GPR equipment and do not want to process or interpret GPR data, but want to perform railway condition analysis and rehabilitation design and use GPR data (processed and interpreted by others) and all other railway condition data. The program can be used to create new projects, integrate and analyse different measurement data, do railway analysis and rehabilitation design and dimensioning. The program has all the other Railway Doctor features except and GPR data processing and interpretation. Companies that do not use GPR at all can also use the Designer version to link, visualize and analyse their railway data
RDMS uses a project based user interface which is based on track sections. One project can include one or more track sections. All defined data are sorted in the project tree based on section and data type.
Rehabilitation Planning
The software enables rehabilitation planning and dimensioning for existing railways by using Odemark´s method. Layer modulus values needed in dimensioning are calculated with the help of with a 2-3 layer Forward Calculation (from FWD data) built in the software. Tools in the software make it possible to estimate the required amount of material and the preliminary cost. The software can also be utilized by monitoring various work stages and checking quality control of a finished project with the help of GPS positioning built into the software.
External Map and Printing
All data in the software can be exported with coordinate and/or position information. The possible output formats are suitable for use in other software such as CAD programs, ArcGIS, MapInfo, etc. The software itself also has an effective tool for making theme maps of analysed results directly from various types of open datasets. Still images can be created from large files such as video and GPR data to save disk space. These still images and all other linked data can be viewed by the client with the free RDMS Viewer software. Views can be created and saved ready for the client to open, saving time and allowing the most relevant information and results of the project to be immediately focused on.
