In the management and maintenance of traffic infrastructure, Roadscanners focuses on proactive maintenance. We try to react to problems before damage becomes visible to human eye.
When the root cause of the damage is handled, whereby not just the surface damage is repaired, the life cycle of the structure is extended and significant cost savings in maintenance are achieved. Proactive maintenance policies that react to the early phase symptoms and fix the root cause of the problem have been at the foundation of our operations since 1998.
Infrastructure asset management without breaking the surface or structures
Our key expertise is in the development of the use of non-destructive methods, such as ground penetrating radar (GPR), laser scanner (LiDAR), accelerometer, HD and thermal camera linked together with GPS, in the monitoring and diagnostics of roads, streets, bridges and airports.

Roadscanners software and hardware products
Main tool for our consulting services and for our software and hardware products is Road Doctor® software that has been developed for over 20-years. Road Doctor® specializes in simultaneous traffic infrastructure surface and sub-surface multidata analysis.
Another main tool and product of Roadscanners is Road Doctor Survey Van (RDSV) – road clinic for data collection.

Our main customers are traffic infrastructure owners and administrators like counties, cities, and road authorities. Roadscanners is doing a lot of research and development related work and projects. Our co-operation partners are universities and other research institutes.
The most important R&D project since 1998 has been the ROADEX project, with a focus on low traffic volume road condition management in cold climate areas. Roadscanners as a company has also participated in other large international R&D projects, such as the SHRP2 (Strategic Highway Research) project in the U.S.A., and, in Europe, the EU funded MaraNord project, Barents Low Volume Road Management project and the TRIMM project.
Arctic expertise
As a Finnish company, we have a significant expertise related to traffic infrastructure problems caused by arctic weather conditions. We possess an excellent knowledge related, for example, to impact of freezing and thawing on the road structures and pavement.
The company also has consulting offices in Tampere and Vantaa, Finland. Currently, the group also has four subsidiaries: Roadscanners Sweden AB, located in Falun, Sweden; Roadscanners Central Europe s.r.o, located in Prague, Czech Republic; Roadscanners Norway AS in Kirkenes, Norway; and Roadscanners USA Inc., Delaware, USA.
